This project included creating a concept for a fake game, and designing a logotype and custom font articulating the concept. My concept was for a game called "Fatal Attraction": A delightful murder based visual novel dating simulator.

My goal with this project was to communicate both the theme of violence with an overarching theme of dating simulator. It proved to be a very difficult combination to pull off with the right balance. Especially in the font. I ended up making a font that looks bubbly and fun, with sharp edges that are not usually seen in a font of this type.
Some options I considered while doing logo explorations. I made much more, but these were top contenders. My final chosen design seen at the bottom of the page.
My first pass after translating my drawing into Adobe Illustrator. I later changed coloring and added more details to really push the visual novel logo feel.
Using the "HOMRA" font creation method, I was exploring creating a modular font that had elements of horror, mixed with cuteness. Some of my options were too horror leaning and some were not enough, so I ended up with a nice middle zone modular font seen on the picture to the right.
I ended up with this font because it mixed both elements of a sharp edge with a pointy and sharp corner.
I was using Adobe Illustrator to translate my designs into a usable font. I was using a heavy grid system to ensure my letters were equal heights and proportionate to one another.
My fully functioning font was created in using Illustrator plugin: FontSelf. I created all uppercase and lowercase characters, with 10 number codes and some punctuation. BubbleCut is a completely functional font that can download by clicking the button below.
